There is just one reality. But there are many ways to survey it digitally. Via TPS or GPS, for example, but also using aerial photographs from unmanned aerial vehicles that provide so-called UAV data. When this data is from different perspectives is combined it provides a very comprehensive set of information. It results in a unique, highly relevant and precise digital reality.

“Fallingwater” is probably the most photographed house in the world – built by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Guggenheim Museum in New York also bears his hallmark. The American architect built himself “Taliesin West” in Arizona as a home and studio. The property has been captured by the smallest laser scanner in the world, the BLK360 from Leica Geosystems. The digital reality it has produced provides a completely new approach to experiencing historically important buildings.

Pisa and St. Moritz have one thing in common: a monument in the form of a leaning tower. The one in St. Moritz was built in the 12th century. It is 33 meters tall and has a 5.5 degree incline. The local authority used a T2 Wild theodolite, serial number 2806, to control and monitor the inclination angle of this tourist attraction. It has been used for an hour each month for over 40 years. 

The striking opera house in Sydney took 14 years to construct. The complex geometry of the roof alone was redesigned twelve times. Punch card driven computers took 18 months to calculate the curvatures and statics of all the roofs. The construction of the famous opera house between 1959 and 1973 was monitored using Leica Geosystems tachymeters.
